Exporting Metadata:

Exporting document metadata to a new metadata load file from WarRoom is very similar to the metadata import process. First, select
Documents > Export Document Metadata from the menu to bring up the Export Document Metadata module.

Before exporting your document metadata, you must select which fields you would like to include in your export file. Use the arrow buttons to move fields from the left box to the right. They will be exported in the order that they appear in the right box. Check the box in the bottom left if you would like the field names included as the first record in the metadata load file (recommended).

Next, enter the range of documents that you would like to export in the upper right. This range corresponds to the current document query, so if you have run a search and narrowed your full set of documents down to a smaller set, you will only be able to select a range from within that subset. This is useful if, for example, you only want to export metadata from a specific tag or query.

To export any other document metadata, you will need to return to the main screen and clear the current search first (or click the home button to return to the entire universe of documents).

Finally, you will need to choose which delimiting characters you would like WarRoom to use for the comma, quote and new line characters. The default settings are generally fine, but occasionally you may need to choose different delimiters if one of the default characters appears somewhere in one of your document's metadata. Click Export to complete the export process and save your new metadata load file (.DAT).
